Work in progress

This will be the last post on this blog. As I want to explore new ventures, I'm taking a break from blogging. Of course I keep knitting and designing and my shops on Etsy and Ravelry stay open.

This scarf to be for example will soon be in my Etsy shop, just like the pattern will be on Ravelry. I hope you keep enjoying my free patterns and posts and if you like to comment, you still can. Enjoy and keep crafting!

Celebrate the Etsy 2014 Craft Party

On June 6th Etsy is celebrating her fifth annual worldwide Craft Party. People will gather to craft and meet in many places around the globe. For the first time there's a party in Deventer too and of course I'm going. Would you like to come too? You can still join here.

Theme of the party this year is Recapture - bring new meaning to your photographs. All participants will bring photo's, crafting material and something to eat or drink and together we'll have a crafty afternoon. I'm excited to see what will be made and already gave it a try.

On Flickr you can see photos of previous Etsy Craft Parties. And here is some great inspiration for this years party. Hope you'll join the fun in Deventer or wherever you are.

Free pattern and several new listings

For a long time I had a stack of finished work that I wanted add to my shops and blog. Yesterday and today I finally came round to do it.

One of the things I added to this blog is a new free knitting pattern. It's for a pair of wrist warmers, which I made of pure angora. It only requires knitting, purling and being able to knit in the round.

I updated my Ravelry store and in my Etsy shop I added knitwear and also four sewn items. This lavender filled butterfly pillow is one of them. And these three faux fur pouches below.

Listing summer scarfs in August is a bit late, but I'm happy I finally found the time. Or did I create time? Anyway, it's back to some serious work now.

My first ever piece of handmade furniture

Together with Etsy.nl DIY store Karwei has started organizing workshops called Ziezo Zaterdag. Today was the first. I subscribed and in two hours time we made this simple stool / side table.

The instructions were easy. And luckily the wood had already been sawn. I loooved the electric screwdriver (I don't have one myself) and came home with no blisters or splinters at all.

To finish it off we shopped for a little can of paint and found this lovely transparant lavender color. The stool will serve as a side table next to my garden bench. Thank you Karwei and Etsy.
