Gauge: 19 st = 10 cm (4 inch), knitted with double yarn in stockinette stitch
The potholders are knit with two strands of yarn to make them thicker and make it save to hold hot pots.

Edge stitch: Slip the first stitch of every needle without knitting or purling it. Slip it knitwise if you purled the last st of the previous row. (Pass the needle under the yarn and insert it in the first st from right to left. Slip the st off and pass the yarn over to the back of the work.)
